Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and skilled Accountant to oversee the financial health of our operations in Okota, Lagos. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with tax and statutory regulations, and providing the financial insights necessary for informed decision-making. We are looking for a professional who is not only technically proficient in accounting standards but also takes pride in accuracy, integrity, and proactive financial management. Requirements:
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow forecasts.
Bookkeeping & Documentation: Maintain rigorous, day-to-day records of all financial transactions, ensuring that all ledgers are up-to-date and fully reconciled.
Tax & Compliance: Manage all tax filings (VAT, PAYE, CIT) and ensure the company remains compliant with all local regulatory and statutory requirements.
Budgeting & Analysis: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monitor expenditure against forecasts, identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
Audit Support: Act as the primary contact for internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is organized and readily available.
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Monitor the aging of accounts, manage vendor payments, and ensure timely collection of receivables to maintain healthy cash flow.
Financial Integrity: Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience in a full-charge accounting role, with a strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws and accounting principles.
Professional Qualification: Possession of or progress toward professional certifications (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is highly preferred.
