Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Family Physician to join our clinical team in Benin. This is a full-time, on-site role for a clinician who is passionate about providing holistic, patient-centered primary care. You will be responsible for managing a diverse patient population, ranging from pediatric to geriatric care, and handling everything from routine health screenings and chronic disease management to acute urgent care interventions. The ideal candidate is a board-certified physician who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to improving community health outcomes through evidence-based medicine.

Requirements:

1. Comprehensive Primary Care & Chronic Disease Management

  • Clinical Assessment: Conduct thorough physical examinations and diagnostic assessments for patients of all ages.

  • Chronic Care: Develop and manage long-term treatment plans for chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and asthma, focusing on lifestyle modification and therapeutic adherence.

  • Preventative Medicine: Lead community health initiatives, including vaccinations, health screenings, and wellness counseling to prevent disease onset.

2. Acute & Urgent Care Services

  • Triage & Stabilization: Provide immediate medical attention for acute illnesses and minor injuries, ensuring rapid diagnosis and intervention.

  • Diagnostic Excellence: Utilize advanced problem-solving skills to interpret lab results, imaging, and clinical data to formulate accurate diagnoses under time constraints.

  • Surgical Procedures: Perform minor outpatient procedures (e.g., suturing, incision and drainage) as required in an urgent care setting.

3. Integrated Healthcare Coordination

  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate with specialists, nurses, and laboratory technicians to ensure a seamless "Continuum of Care" for complex cases.

  • Patient Advocacy: Serve as the primary health advocate for patients, guiding them through the healthcare system and managing specialist referrals.

  • Medical Documentation: Maintain meticulous and confidential electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with Nigerian medical regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational & Professional Credentials

  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.).

  • Certification: Board Certification in Family Medicine or an equivalent postgraduate qualification.

  • Licensing: Must possess a current and valid medical license to practice in Nigeria (MDCN).

Clinical Competencies

  • Versatility: Proven experience in Family Medicine, Primary Care, and Urgent Care settings.

  • Community Health: Background in or a strong understanding of community-based health promotion.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, essential for building trust with patients and collaborating with clinical teams.
