Job Description:
- Oversee and manage dispatch operations to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Coordinate logistics activities, optimize processes, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards while improving operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily dispatch operations to ensure on-time delivery of goods.
- Monitor vehicle movements and optimize delivery routes for efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Manage dispatch personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth dispatch operations.
- Analyze dispatch data and prepare reports to support performance improvement.
- Resolve delivery delays, operational issues, and customer complaints promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch transactions, vehicle logs, and fuel usage.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives to improve dispatch efficiency.
- Ensure proper maintenance, availability, and utilization of fleet to minimize downtime.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills.
- Possess excellent communication and coordination ability.
- Have strong analytical skills for route planning and cost control.
- Be able to work under pressure and handle operational challenges.
- Show high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Be proficient in logistics / dispatch management systems and Microsoft Office tools.
Qualifications and Skills:
- HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certification in Logistics, Transport Management, or Supply Chain is an – Added advantage.
- Advanced certification in fleet or transport operations is an added advantage
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in dispatch, logistics, or transport management.
- Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or transport industry is an added advantage
