Job Description:
We are seeking a resourceful and "street-smart" Customer Service Representative to be the primary voice of our brand. This is not a typical call-center job; we need someone who understands the Lagos pulse—someone who can be strictly professional one minute and switch to authentic, relatable pidgin the next to de-escalate a situation or build rapport with a customer.
You will be the bridge between our operations and our clients, ensuring that every inquiry, order follow-up, and complaint is handled with confidence and speed. If you are solution-driven, organized enough to track every pending order, and confident enough to handle "tough" customers without losing your cool, this role is for you.
Requirements:
1. High-Velocity Communication & Conflict Resolution
WhatsApp Stewardship: Manage the primary communication channel (WhatsApp) with speed and accuracy, ensuring no inquiry goes unanswered.
Tone Switching: Masterfully maintain the brand’s professional tone while using localized "street-smart" intuition (and pidgin where appropriate) to connect with customers.
Resolution Excellence: Take ownership of customer complaints, resolving them on the spot or escalating them with clear context to management.
2. Operational Follow-up & Order Management
Order Tracking: Be the "watchdog" for pending orders, following up with the logistics or production teams to ensure customers get their items on time.
Proactive Engagement: Don't wait for the customer to call; reach out first if there’s a delay, turning a potential complaint into a positive experience.
CRM Discipline: Keep clear records of customer interactions to ensure a seamless "handover" if another team member steps in.
3. Reporting & Feedback Loop
Interaction Analysis: Provide weekly structured reports on customer feedback, highlighting recurring issues or "pain points."
Strategy Support: Use your frontline experience to suggest improvements to management regarding service delivery and product quality.
Qualifications and Skills:
The Ideal Profile
Experience: Proven experience in a retail or customer-facing role. You should be familiar with the fast-paced nature of Lagos commerce.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills in English and authentic Pidgin.
Personality: Confident, resilient, and "street-smart." You shouldn't be easily intimidated by demanding customers.
Tech Savvy: Comfortable using WhatsApp Business, basic reporting tools, and mobile apps.
Organization: Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively under pressure.
