Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned, commercially driven Country Manager to lead our Molecular Diagnostics business in Nigeria. This is a high-level strategic role for a leader capable of navigating one of Africa's most complex healthcare markets. You will have full P&L responsibility, overseeing commercial strategy, market access, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will be a bridge-builder who can effectively engage with public health authorities, international donors, and private sector stakeholders to position our organization as a long-term partner in the Nigerian healthcare ecosystem.

Requirements:

  • Strategic & Commercial Leadership: Partner with the Managing Director to define and execute a Nigeria-specific growth strategy. You will hold full P&L responsibility, driving revenue, profitability, and market share across both public and private sectors.

  • Sales Excellence: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Sales Executives and Ambassadors. You will oversee the execution of sales plans, manage contract negotiations, and ensure the effective use of CRM and performance management systems.

  • Government & Market Access: Build and maintain deep-rooted relationships with Federal and State Ministries of Health, regulatory bodies, and public health/reference laboratories. You must master Nigeria’s healthcare procurement structures and donor-funding mechanisms to navigate complex tender processes successfully.

  • KOL & Stakeholder Engagement: Execute structured Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement plans. Build direct relationships with laboratory directors and C-suite stakeholders to translate market insights into actionable commercial strategies.

  • People Leadership: Develop high-potential talent, foster a high-performance culture, and implement succession plans. You will be responsible for building organizational capability through active coaching and mentoring.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: University Degree in Medical Technology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.

  • Experience: * Minimum 6 years in a senior commercial or country leadership role.

    • 3–4 years of proven people management experience.

    • Strong background in IVD, Diagnostics, Molecular, or related healthcare markets.

  • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Nigerian healthcare system, including donor funding, regulatory engagement, and laboratory procurement models.

  • Technical Mastery: Strong business planning, financial analysis, and project management skills.
