Job Description:
Black Pelican Group is seeking a visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as the primary architect of our financial health and strategic growth. This is an elite leadership role designed for a finance executive who excels at the intersection of corporate finance and complex project management. You will not only oversee traditional financial operations but will also spearhead high-value capital projects, ensuring long-term sustainability through sophisticated risk mitigation, balance sheet optimization, and resource prioritization. The ideal candidate is a strategic powerhouse with the ability to navigate market volatility while driving the investment strategies that will define our next decade of market leadership.
Requirements:
1. Strategic Project Finance & Feasibility
Project Governance: Oversee the financial lifecycle of major developments—from initiation to completion—including rigorous budgeting, cost analysis, and milestones tracking.
Investment Appraisal: Conduct in-depth financial modeling to evaluate the feasibility and IRR of major initiatives, ensuring that capital is allocated to projects with the highest ROI.
Funding & Sourcing: Optimize the capital structure by evaluating financing options, sourcing funding, and prioritizing initiatives that enhance the company's equity value.
2. Risk Mitigation & Balance Sheet Optimization
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate systemic financial risks, including currency fluctuations, tax inefficiencies, and regulatory shifts that impact major project delivery.
Treasury & Liquidity: Manage global cash flow and working capital to support intensive investment activities while maintaining a robust liquidity buffer.
Governance Frameworks: Implement best-in-class financial controls and internal policies to ensure transparency and integrity across all multinational or cross-functional operations.
3. Executive Leadership & Stakeholder Influence
Stakeholder Management: Act as a key liaison to the Board of Directors, investors, and lenders, providing high-level management intelligence and performance updates.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure absolute adherence to IFRS, local tax laws, and international accounting standards across all special project vehicles.
Strategic Growth: Advise senior management on capital structure, dividend policies, and potential M&A opportunities to support long-term business objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Professional Standing
Academic: B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Finance or Accounting.
Certification: Professional qualification (ACA or ACCA) is mandatory.
Tenure: Minimum of 15 years of cognate experience in finance and accounting, with a significant track record in a senior leadership role.
Core Competencies
Financial Modeling: Expert-level knowledge of investment analysis, capital structure optimization, and advanced financial modeling.
Project Mastery: Strong understanding of project management principles within the construction, lifestyle, or commercial development sectors.
