Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Business Development Manager to spearhead our growth across the Nigerian energy landscape. This is a dynamic role that bridges the gap between technical project support and high-level client engagement. You will be responsible for identifying emerging market opportunities, conducting field visits to engage prospective customers, and supporting the development of critical energy and infrastructure projects from the ground up.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is equally comfortable in a corporate boardroom as they are on a field site, possessing the "street-smart" intuition and technical literacy required to navigate the complex energy sector.

Requirements:

Growth & Opportunity Identification

  • Market Expansion: Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities within the energy, engineering, and construction sectors across Nigeria.

  • Lead Management: Maintain a robust pipeline of prospects, ensuring consistent follow-up and management of all client interactions.

  • Field Engagement: Conduct regular field visits to meet prospective customers, assess site-specific needs, and build boots-on-the-ground relationships.

Client Relations & Solution Selling

  • Needs Analysis: Deeply understand client requirements and recommend suitable, high-impact energy or engineering solutions.

  • Strategic Networking: Build and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders, ranging from private developers to government bodies.

  • Proposal Support: Collaborate with technical teams to support the preparation and presentation of compelling project proposals and pitch decks.

Results & Pipeline Management

  • Target Achievement: Work independently to meet and exceed growth targets, driving revenue through strategic partnerships.

  • Activity Tracking: Provide regular updates on market trends, client feedback, and the status of ongoing business development initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • 2–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or project-based roles.

    • Preferred: Prior experience within the Energy, Engineering, or Construction sectors.

  • Skills:

    • Strong understanding of energy or infrastructure project lifecycles.

    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to translate technical concepts into business value for clients.

  • Core Competencies:

    • Self-Driven: A proactive individual who doesn't wait for instructions to pursue a lead.

    • Resilience: Comfortable with the physical and professional demands of field-based work and frequent travel.

    • Relationship-Oriented: A natural ability to build trust and rapport with a diverse range of business contacts.
