Job Description:
Ultraviolet MFB is seeking a high-caliber Business Development Manager to lead our growth engine. In the competitive microfinance landscape, we need a leader who can balance the "Twin Pillars" of banking: aggressive deposit mobilization and the development of a high-quality, low-risk loan portfolio.
As the BDM, you will be the primary architect of the bank's expansion. You will be responsible for sourcing low-cost deposits from HNWIs and corporate entities while simultaneously identifying credit-worthy SMEs to grow our risk assets. This is a leadership role requiring a mix of strategic planning, forensic market analysis, and high-level relationship management. Requirements:
1. Liability Generation & Revenue Growth
Deposit Mobilization: Develop and execute sophisticated strategies to attract savings and fixed deposits from SMEs, cooperatives, and high-net-worth individuals.
Target Achievement: Own the monthly and annual deposit quotas, ensuring the bank maintains optimal liquidity levels.
Segment Targeting: Identify and penetrate untapped corporate and institutional sectors to diversify the bank's liability base.
2. Quality Risk Asset Development
Portfolio Expansion: Drive the growth of the bank’s loan portfolio while maintaining a primary focus on asset quality and low Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratios.
Credit Collaboration: Work closely with the credit team to ensure loans are structured to meet client needs while protecting the bank's capital.
Performance Monitoring: Proactively monitor the loan book to identify early warning signs of default and implement recovery strategies.
3. Strategic Leadership & Relationship Management
Market Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive competitor analysis and market research to identify new expansion opportunities and product niches.
Elite Networking: Represent the bank at executive-level meetings and industry events to build strategic partnerships that drive sustainability.
Team Orchestration: Supervise and mentor the deposit mobilization and marketing staff, setting clear KPIs and conducting rigorous performance reviews.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Experience: Proven experience in a senior business development or marketing role within the Banking or Microfinance sector.
Track Record: A documented history of achieving significant deposit mobilization and loan growth targets.
Regulatory IQ: Deep understanding of CBN regulations, microfinance policy frameworks, and internal compliance standards.
