Job Description:
Brokerage & Customs Operations:
- Supervise all import and export clearance processes, ensuring full compliance with customs regulations and trade laws.
- Oversee the preparation, submission, and management of all customs documentation for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies (e.g., Nigeria Customs Service, NAFDAC, SON, and other trade authorities) to ensure seamless cargo clearance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs codes, tariffs, HS classifications, and changing international trade policies.
- Ensure timely clearance of express shipments to meet service-level commitments.
International Sales & Business Growth:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to grow cross-border shipping, e-commerce logistics, and international delivery volumes.
- Identify and build partnerships with global couriers, freight forwarders, and last-mile delivery agents.
- Lead negotiations with international clients, distributors, and partners to secure profitable contracts.
- Explore new international markets and trade routes that align with the company’s expansion goals.
Financial & Performance Management:
- Manage and optimise brokerage and sales budgets to achieve profitability targets.
- Track, analyse, and report on key performance metrics, including clearance turnaround time, sales growth, and customer retention.
- Ensure accurate billing and reconciliation of all brokerage and international sales transactions.
- Strategic Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with domestic operations, finance, IT, and customer service teams to ensure cohesive service delivery across borders.
- Work with the product and technology teams to enhance international logistics platforms, tracking systems, and data visibility.
- Represent the company in trade meetings, logistics conferences, and industry partnerships to strengthen brand presence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain
- Management, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in logistics operations.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or international logistics operations.
- Proven track record in international sales development and revenue generation.
- Strong understanding of customs regulations, tariffs, HS codes, and international shipping documentation.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in CRM, logistics management systems, Power BI, or Excel for reporting and analytics.
- Ability to manage complex operations in a fast-paced, high-volume express logistics environment.
