Job Description:
- Plan, execute, and lead internal audit engagements in accordance with the bi-annual audit plan and professional audit standards.
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, governance frameworks, and risk management systems.
- Identify business process improvement opportunities and recommend corrective measures to strengthen operational efficiency and compliance.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports with actionable recommendations for management and the Audit Committee.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks, accounting standards (IFRS), and internal policies.
- Support the development and monitoring of enterprise risk management (ERM) initiatives.
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior auditors, providing professional guidance and performance feedback.
- Follow up on audit findings and management action plans to ensure timely implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess control implications of new business processes, systems, and technologies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal audit methodologies and practices.
Requirements:
- Industry Experience: Prior experience in a cable manufacturing company or related manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of IFRS, internal control frameworks, and risk management standards.
- Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and audit/analytics tools; experience in data analytics is an added advantage.
- Skills: Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication abilities.
- Attributes: High ethical standards, integrity, strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) or HND in Accounting or other numerate disciplines.
- Professional Certification: Member of ICAN or ACCA (mandatory).
- Experience: 5–7 years of relevant experience in internal/external audit, risk management, or managerial accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
