Job Description:
General Financial Duties
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records across the College and Travel & Tours divisions.
- Process and record all income, expenses, and transactions promptly and correctly.
- Handle invoicing, payments, collections, and receipts for clients, vendors, and students.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts, petty cash, and departmental ledgers.
- Monitor budget performance for both units, flagging discrepancies or variances to the Head of Accounts.
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with internal control policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial reports to management and auditors.
- Support internal and external audit processes through accurate recordkeeping and documentation.
- Assist in financial analysis to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all financial information handled.
Travel & Tours Division:
- Manage payments, collections, and reconciliations related to flight bookings, travel packages, and vendor transactions.
- Track sales revenue, commissions, and operational expenses.
- Generate travel-related financial performance reports, including sales summaries and profit margins.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in invoicing clients and settling vendor accounts.
- Support the Head of Accounts in analyzing travel-related financial data for strategic insights.
College Division:
- Manage student billing, tuition fee invoicing, and collection of all academic and administrative payments.
- Maintain accurate student account records, reflecting payments, balances, and receipts.
- Track and report on budgets, grants, scholarships, and other funding sources.
- Prepare income and expenditure statements specific to academic operations.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies applicable to the education sector.
- Liaise with administrative staff and students to resolve payment queries promptly.
Requirements:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and accountability.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities across two divisions.
- Strong ethics and confidentiality in handling financial data.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and local tax regulations.
- Familiarity with student billing systems and travel agency financial operations is an advantage.
- Integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Professional certification in progress (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in an educational institution or travel/tourism organization.
