Job Description:
The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, handling, and dispatching furniture products. The role requires attention to detail, physical strength, and a commitment to maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse environment.
Requirements:
- Assist in receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming furniture items and materials.
- Arrange and store furniture in designated warehouse areas following proper stacking and safety procedures.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for delivery or pickup.
- Ensure all items are handled carefully to prevent damage, especially delicate or premium furniture pieces.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse at all times.
- Conduct routine stock counts and assist in inventory management.
- Report any damaged, missing, or faulty items to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist in assembling or disassembling furniture when required.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper lifting techniques and use of equipment.
- Support delivery teams when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum OND or equivalent qualification.
- Previous warehouse or logistics experience (preferably in furniture or similar industry) is an added advantage.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy items.
- Basic understanding of inventory and stock control processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational ability.
