Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate, highly skilled, and fully licensed Speech Therapist to join our dedicated medical rehabilitation team. In this role, you will take clinical ownership of assessing, diagnosing, and implementing specialized treatment plans for patients experiencing a wide range of communication, speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

The ideal candidate will combine strong clinical expertise with excellent patient-care skills, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment to restore patient functionality and improve their overall quality of life.

Requirements:

• Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify and diagnose speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication, and swallowing (dysphagia) disorders in patients.

• Treatment Planning: Design, develop, and execute individualized, evidence-based therapeutic treatment plans tailored to specific patient needs and goals.

• Therapy Implementation: Deliver high-quality therapy sessions to help patients improve articulation, language comprehension, expression, voice clarity, and safe swallowing techniques.

• Progress Monitoring: Accurately document patient evaluations, daily progress clinical notes, and structural discharge summaries. Review and modify treatment protocols based on patient progression.

• Patient & Caregiver Education: Counsel and educate patients, their families, and care teams on specialized communication techniques, home-exercise programs, and safe swallowing strategies.

• Collaboration: Partner effectively with audiologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and physicians to ensure holistic, coordinated patient care.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a closely related medical rehabilitation discipline.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of active clinical experience working in a rehabilitation clinic, hospital, or specialized healthcare setting.

• Professional Licensure: Mandatory active registration and licensing with the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria (MRTB).

• Core Skills:

  • Strong clinical evaluation skills with a deep understanding of neurological and developmental speech disorders.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to connect with patients of varying age groups and backgrounds.

  • High level of patience, empathy, and professional integrity.
