Job Description:

• We are seeking an experienced Senior Development Officer to manage, maintain and improve its digital products.
• The successful candidate will supervise the Development Officer and ensure that MRT’s products remain functional, secure, reliable and properly documented.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain MRT’s existing software products.
• Review application code, databases, integrations and system architecture.
• Develop new features and improve existing product functionalities.
• Identify and resolve bugs, application errors and performance issues.
• Manage product updates, version releases and technical deployments.
• Integrate applications with databases, APIs and third-party services.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce appropriate development standards.
• Monitor product security, performance and availability.
• Maintain proper version control and technical documentation.
• Supervise and review the work of the Development Officer.
• Support the Project Delivery team during product configuration and implementation.
• Resolve complex technical issues reported by clients and internal users.
• Recommend improvements to MRT’s products and development processes.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. or HND in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum of four years’ relevant software-development experience.
• Strong application-development and maintenance experience.
• Good knowledge of databases, APIs and system integrations.
• Ability to understand, modify and improve an existing codebase.
• Strong debugging, testing and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using Git or another version-control system.
• Ability to supervise junior developers and review their work.
• Strong documentation, communication and time-management skills.
