About Company:
Siperco Nigeria Limited, a Plastics Manufacturing company, is currently recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position above
Job Description:
We are seeking a technically proficient and highly disciplined Quality Control Manager to lead the quality assurance department at our Lagos manufacturing facility. In plastic production, quality is a science of precision—ranging from melt flow consistency to structural integrity. Your mission is to move beyond simple inspection to a "Quality by Design" approach, ensuring that every batch of finished product meets both international standards and our clients' rigorous specifications.
As the QC Manager, you will serve as the final authority on product release. You will lead a team of inspectors, manage sophisticated testing equipment, and collaborate with engineering to eliminate production variances. If you have 4–5 years of experience in the plastics industry and a deep understanding of polymer behavior, we invite you to anchor our quality operations.
Requirements:
1. Full-Lifecycle Quality Governance
Inbound/Outbound Oversight: Oversee the rigorous testing of raw materials (resins, colorants, additives), in-process production, and finished goods to prevent contamination or defects.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop and implement comprehensive QC procedures that align with ISO standards and local regulatory requirements (SON, NAFDAC).
Equipment Calibration: Ensure all laboratory and testing equipment (e.g., tensile testers, impact testers, calipers) are calibrated and functioning within narrow tolerances.
2. Analytical Leadership & Process Improvement
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Identify systemic quality failures, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and lead the engineering team in process optimization.
Data-Driven Trends: Analyze daily production data to identify trends in defect rates or material waste, providing actionable insights to the plant manager.
Compliance & Audits: Lead internal and external quality audits, maintaining meticulous records for regulatory review and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) compliance.
3. Stakeholder Management & Training
Customer Resolution: Act as the primary technical point of contact for customer complaints, coordinating investigations and ensuring swift, satisfactory resolutions.
Team Development: Mentor and train the QC team on accurate measurement techniques and consistent performance standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Production and Engineering heads to bridge the gap between high-speed output and high-standard quality.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer/Plastic Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience: 4–5 years of hands-on quality control experience specifically within a plastic manufacturing environment (Injection Molding, Blow Molding, or Extrusion).
Age Range: 28–45 years.
Core Competencies
Methodological Knowledge: Deep understanding of QC tools (Lean Six Sigma, 5S, Total Quality Management).
Technical IQ: Familiarity with plastic testing standards (ASTM/ISO) and the chemical properties of various polymers (PE, PP, PVC, PET).
Leadership: Proven ability to manage a technical team and make high-stakes decisions under pressure.
Attention to Detail: An uncompromising eye for microscopic defects and statistical variances.
