Job Description:
Clinix Healthcare is seeking a meticulous and proactive Quality Assurance Officer to join our laboratory team at the Awka branch. In this role, you will be the primary guardian of our diagnostic integrity, ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance across all laboratory processes.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with deep technical expertise in medical laboratory standards and a commitment to operational excellence. You will play a critical role in safeguarding patient outcomes by maintaining a robust quality management system that aligns with both national and international benchmarks.
Requirements:
Quality Systems & Monitoring
System Oversight: Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) systems across all laboratory departments.
Performance Validation: Manage equipment calibration, maintain rigorous maintenance records, and oversee performance validation for all diagnostic tools.
Audit & Testing: Conduct regular internal audits and coordinate external quality assurance programs and proficiency testing schemes to verify procedural accuracy.
Compliance & Validation
Standards Adherence: Ensure all laboratory tests meet ISO 15189 standards and relevant national regulatory requirements.
SOP Management: Review and validate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), test results, and documentation for absolute accuracy and completeness.
Corrective Action: Investigate quality issues or non-conformities and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Reporting & Training
Staff Development: Train laboratory personnel on quality management systems, safety standards, and infection control protocols.
Management Reporting: Prepare detailed quality reports and present key findings and risk assessments to the Laboratory Manager and senior leadership.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & NYSC: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent) and a completed National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate.
Experience:
Minimum of 3–5 years of post-NYSC experience in a medical laboratory.
At least 2 years specifically in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of ISO 15189 standards and laboratory quality management systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
Certification in Quality Management or ISO standards is an added advantage.
