Job Description:
Project Planning & Execution:
- Interpret and implement project plans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Develop and maintain detailed daily and weekly work schedules.
- Coordinate project resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Monitor productivity and adjust workflow strategies to meet deadlines.
Site Supervision & Coordination:
- Supervise daily site operations, ensuring compliance with construction methods and specifications.
- Direct, monitor, and evaluate the performance of subcontractors, artisans, and site staff.
- Hold daily site briefings to communicate work plans, safety guidelines, and objectives.
- Ensure materials delivered match specifications and are used efficiently.
- Resolve site conflicts, technical challenges, or delays proactively.
Quality Assurance & Control:
- Inspect ongoing works to ensure they meet approved drawings, standards, and client expectations.
- Conduct quality checks on materials and workmanship before approvals.
- Report non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are promptly executed.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance/Control teams to document compliance.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety policies and statutory requirements.
- Conduct routine toolbox talks and safety drills for site teams.
- Identify hazards and implement risk mitigation measures.
- Maintain a clean, secure, and organized construction site at all times.
Communication & Reporting:
- Act as the primary link between site operations and project management.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
- Maintain accurate documentation of site activities, including labor, equipment use, and material logs.
- Participate in project meetings with clients, consultants, and management.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Mentor junior engineers, foremen, and site supervisors.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among site staff.
- Manage labor productivity and discipline to ensure optimal site performance.
- Support capacity-building initiatives by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
Requirements:
- Strong technical knowledge of civil and structural works.
- Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- High attention to detail with a results-driven mindset.
- Leadership skills to manage diverse teams effectively under pressure.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field, master's is an added advantage
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction supervision, preferably across multiple large-scale projects.
- Professional certifications in Project Management (PMP/PRINCE2), Construction Safety (OSHA/NEBOSH), or Quality Management are an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of construction codes, building regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
