Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber Procurement Specialist to serve as a Category Buyer for our local and international sourcing operations. This role is designed for a strategic professional who can navigate the complexities of global supply chains while optimizing local vendor networks.
Reporting to the Procurement Lead, you will be responsible for the end-to-end category management of assigned goods and services. Your mission is to move beyond transactional buying to create long-term value through cost optimization, risk mitigation, and strategic supplier partnerships. If you are a certified professional (CIPS, ISM, or equivalent) with a deep understanding of import/export regulations and "Total Cost of Ownership" (TCO) principles, we want you to drive our procurement excellence.
Requirements:
1. Category Strategy & Market Intelligence
Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute multi-year procurement strategies for assigned categories, balancing local agility with international scale.
Benchmarking & Research: Conduct rigorous market research and indexing to anticipate price fluctuations, supply chain risks, and emerging technologies.
Cost Optimization: Lead "Value Engineering" initiatives to reduce costs without compromising on quality or service standards.
2. Full-Cycle Procurement & International Trade
Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire procurement funnel—from requisition and tendering (RFP/RFQ) to evaluation, contract award, and performance tracking.
Global Logistics & Trade: Navigate international trade practices, including Incoterms, customs regulations, and import/export documentation to ensure seamless cross-border delivery.
Contract Governance: Draft and manage robust contracts that protect the organization’s interests and ensure supplier accountability.
3. Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) & Compliance
Performance Monitoring: Implement supplier scorecards to track and improve vendor performance in terms of quality, lead times, and cost.
Ethical Governance: Ensure 100% compliance with organizational policies, anti-bribery standards, and global ethical procurement codes.
Stakeholder Alignment: Act as a bridge between internal business units and external vendors to ensure project timelines are met with precision.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing & Supply, or Business Administration.
Experience: 5 – 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, with a proven track record in both local and international markets.
Certifications: Mandatory professional certification (e.g., CIPS, ISM, PPAN, CILPM).
Technical Proficiency: Expert-level use of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel for data analytics.
Core Competencies
Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of "Total Cost of Ownership" (TCO) and contract law.
Negotiation Mastery: Ability to secure competitive terms in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
