Job Description:
- The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and coordination of all monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) activities for the Disability Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction (DIDRR) project in Kogi State.
- The M&E Officer will ensure that project activities are effectively tracked and assessed to demonstrate results and inform decision-making.
- The officer will also ensure that the project meets inclusion standards, particularly in relation to persons with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive M&E plan for the DIDRR project in line with the project’s logical framework and donor requirements.
- Track the implementation of project activities to ensure alignment with planned outputs, outcomes, and impact.
- Develop success stories, lessons learned, and case studies for knowledge sharing and donor reporting.
- Train and support project staff, volunteers, and partners on M&E tools, disability-inclusive approaches, and data quality standards.
- Maintain a secure and organized database of M&E data and reports.
- Prepare and submit timely M&E reports to the donors.
- Ensure the application of safeguarding and Do No Harm principles in all M&E processes.
- Design and administer data collection tools and methodologies that are inclusive and accessible for persons with disabilities.
- Collect, analyze, and report on quantitative and qualitative data from project sites and stakeholders.
- Ensure the quality, completeness, accuracy, and integrity of all project data.
- Conduct baseline, midline, and end line surveys, as well as periodic assessments, including needs assessments and post-disaster evaluations.
- Support the Program team in organizing workshops and trainings, including drafting official letters for planned activities.
- Perform other task as assign.
Requirements:
- Experience working with community structures and government agencies in Kogi State.
- Knowledge of local languages spoken in Kogi State.
- Training in safeguarding and protection principles.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Public Health, Development Studies, or related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Experience using digital data collection tools such as KoboToolbox or ODK,
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders, including persons with disabilities.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- At least 3 years of experience in M&E, preferably in disaster risk reduction, humanitarian, or disability-inclusive development projects.
- Proven experience in managing data collection, analysis, and reporting for multi-sectoral projects.
- Knowledge of disability rights, inclusion principles, and accessibility standards.
- Willingness to travel regularly within Kogi State to project locations.
Salary
