Job Description:
- Lead and supervise credit officers in executing the company’s credit and marketing strategies.
- Drive deposit mobilization and ensure achievement of set financial and operational targets.
- Oversee the appraisal, approval process (within limits), and documentation of loan applications to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Monitor the loan portfolio, proactively manage risks, and ensure effective recovery strategies to minimize default.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, especially with high-value customers.
- Conduct periodic market and competitor analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training for credit officers to strengthen staff capacity.
- Champion excellent customer service delivery and promote a performance-driven culture.
- Participate in periodic planning, budget sessions, and branch performance reviews.
- Prepare regular reports on loan performance, customer feedback, and market intelligence for management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields. A Master’s degree or professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CFA, CIBN) is an added advantage.
- 5–8 years of relevant work experience in microfinance, commercial banking, or financial services (with at least 3 years in a supervisory role).
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Proven track record in loan portfolio management, credit risk assessment, and deposit mobilization.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with core banking applications.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct.
