We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

• The Litigation Lawyer will represent the company in legal proceedings, manage disputes, and coordinate with external solicitors to ensure effective resolution of all litigation matters.
• The ideal candidate must possess excellent advocacy skills, strong legal research ability, and sound judgment in handling corporate and commercial disputes.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the company in court proceedings and before relevant regulatory bodies.
• Prepare and review court processes, legal pleadings, and documentation for all litigation cases.
• Liaise with external counsel to monitor and coordinate ongoing court cases.
• Advise management on potential legal exposure, dispute resolution options, and litigation risks.
• Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and defense strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all litigation matters and case files.
• Attend meetings, arbitration sessions, and settlement negotiations as required.
• Provide periodic updates and reports on the status of all active and potential cases.
• Handle pre-litigation matters, including demand letters and settlement negotiations.
• Perform other legal duties as may be assigned by the Head of Legal or the Director.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B) and Call to the Nigerian Bar (B.L).
• Minimum of 5 years post-call experience, with a focus on civil and commercial litigation.
• Demonstrated experience handling cases at various court levels.
• Excellent legal drafting, advocacy, and analytical skills.
• In-depth knowledge of Nigerian legal procedures, corporate law, and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• High ethical standards and attention to detail.
