Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and vigilant HSE Food Officer to join our industrial catering team in Victoria Island. In this critical role, you will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and occupational health within our catering operations. You will ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal safety protocols to provide a safe, high-quality dining experience for our clients.

Requirements:

• Safety Compliance: Oversee daily operations to ensure adherence to food safety management systems (HACCP), local health regulations, and company HSE policies.

• Hygiene Audits: Conduct regular inspections of kitchen facilities, storage areas, and service zones to identify and mitigate contamination risks.

• Staff Training: Lead safety workshops and hygiene training for all kitchen and service staff regarding safe food handling, storage, and PPE utilization.

• Incident Management: Monitor food preparation processes, investigate any potential safety incidents, and implement immediate corrective actions.

• Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous documentation of temperature logs, cleaning schedules, supplier certifications, and audit reports for compliance tracking.

• Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify health and safety hazards in an industrial catering environment and develop preventive strategies.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: Proven professional experience as an HSE Officer, Food Safety Auditor, or in a similar quality assurance role within the food and beverage or industrial catering sector.

• Education: A degree or relevant certification in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Health, or a related field.

• Certifications: Professional certification in Food Safety (e.g., HACCP Level 2 or 3, ISO 22000) is highly preferred.

• Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of Nigerian food safety regulations and industrial hygiene standards.

  • Excellent attention to detail with an analytical approach to auditing.

  • Ability to train and lead teams in a fast-paced catering environment.

  • Proficiency in reporting and record-keeping software.
