Job Description:

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HMO Billing Officer to join our healthcare team in Egbeda, Lagos. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing HMO billing processes, claims preparation, reconciliation, and ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims.
• Proximity to Egbeda is essential. Candidates residing in Egbeda or nearby areas will be given priority consideration.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and submit HMO claims accurately and within required timelines.
• Verify patient eligibility and benefits under various HMO plans.
• Ensure proper documentation and coding of services rendered.
• Liaise with HMOs regarding claim approvals, rejections, and reconciliations.
• Follow up on outstanding claims and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of all billing transactions and correspondence.
• Reconcile payments received against submitted claims.
• Provide regular reports on billing status, outstanding claims, and revenue tracking.
• Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to ensure proper documentation for claims processing.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and HMO billing regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum of OND/HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Health Information Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2–3 years’ experience in HMO billing within a hospital or healthcare facility.
• Strong knowledge of HMO processes, claims management, and reconciliation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and hospital billing software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
