Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned and mission-driven Health Manager to lead our health and nutrition programming in Maiduguri. In this pivotal role, you will be the strategic lead for our public health interventions, ensuring that our programs are not only compliant with donor requirements and national standards but are also making a measurable impact on the communities we serve. This is an ideal position for a public health expert with a background in humanitarian settings who possesses the leadership skills to mentor teams and the technical acumen to integrate complex health, nutrition, and WASH components into a unified service delivery model.
Requirements:
Program Strategy & Implementation: Plan, coordinate, and oversee the full lifecycle of health and nutrition programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, donor mandates, and approved budgets.
Technical Leadership & Quality Assurance: Provide expert guidance on public health interventions, ensuring all activities meet national standards, donor policies, and rigorous quality assurance protocols.
Data, Reporting & Analysis: Lead needs assessments and data collection. Analyze health indicators to drive evidence-based decision-making and ensure the timely, accurate submission of donor and internal reports.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building: Supervise and mentor health staff. Foster a culture of high performance through effective training, coaching, and team development.
Integration & Coordination: Champion the integration of health, nutrition, food security, and WASH programming. Represent the organization in high-level stakeholder meetings with government bodies, donors, and humanitarian partners.
Operational Excellence: Support procurement planning, risk management, and compliance initiatives to maximize program efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field. A Master’s Degree is highly preferred.
Experience: 5–7 years of experience in health program management. Proven experience in an NGO or humanitarian setting is a significant advantage.
