Job Description:
We are seeking a poised, articulate, and strategic Public Relations Officer to join our team in Enugu. In this role, you will serve as the primary guardian of the organization’s reputation, ensuring that our brand image remains positive and impactful across all public and media touchpoints. You will be responsible for crafting compelling narratives, managing stakeholder relationships, and executing communication strategies that align with our corporate goals.
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of the Nigerian media landscape, and the ability to navigate high-pressure situations with grace and professionalism.
Requirements:
Image & Reputation Management
Brand Custodianship: Monitor and manage the organization’s public image, ensuring consistency in messaging across all platforms.
Reputation Strategy: Develop and implement proactive PR campaigns to build brand equity and address any public misconceptions effectively.
Crisis Communication: Act as a key responder during sensitive situations, drafting official statements and managing media inquiries to safeguard the organization's integrity.
Media & Public Relations
Press Liaison: Build and maintain strong professional relationships with journalists, media houses, and digital influencers in Enugu and beyond.
Content Creation: Draft high-quality press releases, media kits, speeches, and official newsletters.
Event Coordination: Oversee the planning and execution of press conferences, corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and community engagement events.
Stakeholder Engagement
Interdepartmental Liaison: Collaborate with marketing and management teams to ensure all outward-facing activities are synchronized.
Public Interaction: Serve as the "face" of the organization at networking events, government briefings, and industry conferences within the GRA Enugu axis.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, International Relations, English, or a related discipline.
Experience: Proven experience in a PR, corporate communications, or media relations role.
Location: Candidates must be willing to work full-time in GRA, Enugu.
