Job Description:
- We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) that have in-depth knowledge of the private security industry in Nigeria, strong leadership experience, and a proven track record of operational excellence to lead and manage the overall operations of our security company.
- As COO, you will work closely with the CEO and executive leadership to ensure seamless service delivery, regulatory compliance, and business growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust operational policies, procedures, and systems to drive efficiency, compliance, and client satisfaction.
- Oversee day-to-day operations across all units, including security personnel deployment, logistics, compliance, and customer service.
- Collaborate with executive management to translate strategic goals into actionable operational plans.
- Manage nationwide security operations, including risk assessments, incident response, and resource optimization.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs), generate performance reports, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, and industry partners to enhance service delivery and business opportunities.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to departmental heads and field supervisors, fostering a disciplined and professional work culture.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian laws, licensing requirements, and industry standards governing private security operations.
- Analyze financial and operational data to inform decision-making, cost management, and strategic investments.
- Stay abreast of local and international trends, innovations, and regulatory changes in the private security sector.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the private security industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., COO, Director of Operations, General Manager).
- Must possess professional certification from the International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS) or any other recognized Nigerian professional security institution (e.g., Nigerian Institute for Industrial Security – NIIS, ASIS International – Nigeria Chapter).
- Deep understanding of the private security industry, including operational structure, regulatory requirements, client service models, and industry best practices.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale operations, drive service efficiency, and lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong decision-making, crisis management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
- High integrity, professionalism, and results-oriented leadership approach.
