Job Description:

Makinzil Pharmacy and Stores is seeking a trustworthy, detail-oriented, and customer-friendly Female Cashier to join our team. As the final point of contact in the customer’s journey, you play a vital role in ensuring that every transaction is processed with speed, accuracy, and a high level of professionalism. You will manage daily sales, handle various payment methods (Cash, POS, Transfers), and maintain impeccable financial records. Requirements:

1. Transactional Excellence & Payment Processing

• POS Operations: Efficiently scan and process items using the point-of-sale system and barcode scanners, ensuring every product is correctly captured.

• Payment Handling: Securely receive payments via cash, POS terminals, and bank transfers. You are responsible for identifying counterfeit notes and ensuring successful digital transaction confirmations.

• Documentation: Issue accurate receipts for every purchase and handle voids, refunds, or price checks in strict accordance with store policy.

2. Financial Accountability & Loss Prevention

• Shift Reconciliation: Balance the cash register at the close of every shift, documenting and reporting any discrepancies immediately to the supervisor.

• Inventory Stewardship: Monitor items at the checkout point to prevent loss or theft, acting as a final layer of security for store inventory.

• Procedure Compliance: Strictly follow all supermarket operational and financial procedures to maintain the integrity of our sales data.

3. Customer Experience & Area Maintenance

• Service Quality: Greet every customer politely, assisting with basic price or product inquiries to ensure a smooth and pleasant shopping experience.

• Checkout Standards: Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming checkout area at all times.

• Collaborative Support: Work closely with floor staff and supervisors to address customer needs during peak shopping hours.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

• Academic Background: Minimum of an OND (Ordinary National Diploma).

• Proven Tenure: Previous experience as a cashier or in a similar retail/pharmacy role is a significant advantage.

• Technical Skills: Hands-on ability to operate POS machines and barcode scanners.

Core Competencies

• Mathematical Accuracy: Strong basic arithmetic skills for calculating change and balancing daily accounts.

• Resilience: Ability to work under pressure during high-traffic periods and stand for long durations.
