Job Description:
Ecobank Group is seeking a high-caliber Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Officer to serve as the final line of defense for our digital ecosystem. Based in Victoria Island, Lagos, you will be responsible and accountable for the end-to-end validation of all software developments across the group.
In the banking sector, a single bug can lead to systemic risk. Your mission is to preserve the bank’s reputation by ensuring every release is functional, secure, and high-performing. You will act as a strategic partner to developers and business analysts, guiding User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and driving the automation of our quality frameworks.
Requirements:
1. End-to-End Test Engineering & Strategy
Comprehensive Test Architecture: Design and implement detailed test plans and procedures that cover the full spectrum of testing: Usability, Functionality, Security, and Performance.
White Box & Black Box Mastery: Utilize both internal code-level analysis and external functional testing to identify vulnerabilities and logic flaws.
Regression Rigor: Execute rigorous regression testing cycles whenever bugs are resolved to ensure that new fixes do not compromise existing stability.
2. Technical Validation & API Testing
API Integration Testing: Conduct deep-dive validation of REST and SOAP APIs, ensuring seamless and secure communication between banking modules.
Automation Leadership: Drive the adoption of automated testing tools like Selenium, Katalon, or SmartBear to increase test coverage and deployment velocity.
Risk Mitigation: Evaluate project designs for compliance with global QA standards, providing tangible feedback to mitigate failure risks before production.
3. Stakeholder Orchestration & Release Management
UAT Coordination: Oversee Solution Validation and User Acceptance sessions, serving as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to obtain final deployment sign-offs.
Change Management: Lead the documentation for Change Management and go-live activities, ensuring a smooth transition to Level 2 support teams.
Mentorship & Governance: Provide domain-specific expertise to cross-organizational projects and mentor junior SQA officers to maintain a high standard of excellence across the group.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems. A Master’s degree is a distinct advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 6 years in software testing, specifically within an Agile/Scrum environment.
Framework Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the ITIL framework and professional certification in SQA/Testing is highly desirable.
Languages: English is required; French or other regional language skills are a plus for the Ecobank Group context.
Technical Competencies
Testing Tools: Hands-on experience with Selenium, Katalon, or SmartBear.
Methodologies: In-depth knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.
API Expertise: Proven experience testing REST and SOAP web services.
Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and the ability to interact with C-suite stakeholders and developers alike.
