About Company:
Stella Maris Schools in Abuja is a well-established private educational institution that offers nursery, primary and secondary schooling. With its strategic location around FCT and a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning, it serves families seeking strong academics combined with character-building and extracurricular enrichment.
Job Description:
Stella Maris is seeking a proactive, highly organized, and strategic Digital Communications & Content Coordinator. You will be the primary gatekeeper of the school’s digital presence, ensuring that our website, newsletters, and social media platforms reflect our high standards of excellence. This role is not about "vibes"—it is about structured, professional communication that keeps parents informed, supports admissions growth, and protects the school’s reputation. If you are a disciplined communicator who can plan weeks in advance and bridge the gap between technical IT teams and the parent community, we invite you to apply.
Requirements:
1. Website Management & Quality Control
Content Stewardship: Regularly update website text, images, and announcements to ensure the site is a living resource.
Technical Liaison: Partner with the IT department to upload news items, event updates, and admissions information.
Integrity Audits: Proactively flag and fix outdated pages, test all links for functionality, and ensure visual consistency across all pages.
2. Strategic Official Communications
Professional Newsletters: Design and distribute structured internal (staff) and external (parents, partners, alumni) newsletters.
Audience-Centric Tone: Adapt messaging styles to suit diverse audiences, ensuring the tone for a staff memo differs appropriately from a parent update.
Lifecycle Management: Take full ownership of drafting content, coordinating management approvals, and scheduling sends to meet strict deadlines.
3. Parent-Facing Content Strategy
Proactive Engagement: Anticipate the school calendar to create content parents need before they ask for it.
Confusion Reduction: Act as a bridge between Administration and Parents, distilling complex notices into clear, digital communications.
Deadline Management: Ensure all school notices and updates are communicated early to minimize parent complaints.
4. Digital Marketing & Campaign Execution
Growth Focus: Plan and execute digital campaigns for admissions, school milestones, and major events.
Performance Tracking: Use data to track reach and engagement, refining the content strategy based on what successfully drives growth.
Paid Media Support: Coordinate with design vendors to provide copy and creative direction for paid advertisements.
5. Brand Protection & Governance
Gatekeeping: Protect the Stella Maris brand by preventing low-quality, rushed, or unapproved content from reaching the public.
HSE & Safeguarding: Maintain strict adherence to child-protection and safeguarding standards in all digital media and photography.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Background
Experience: Proven experience in social media management and digital content coordination (experience in educational institutions is highly preferred).
Technical Skill: Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Canva) and a strong understanding of website CMS workflows.
Soft Skills: Exceptional professional judgment, maturity, and the ability to work independently without supervision.
Core Competencies
Writing Excellence: Superior grammar, spelling, and the ability to structure complex information clearly.
Forward Planning: A "non-negotiable" ability to work 2–4 weeks ahead of the current calendar.
Detail Oriented: A relentless focus on accuracy in every post, email, and web update.
