Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and clinical-minded Senior Pharmacist to join our team in Lagos Island. In this pivotal role, you will go beyond traditional dispensing to oversee the entire pharmaceutical workflow, ensuring the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and patient care. You will serve as a technical leader, managing inventory integrity—particularly for temperature-sensitive products and providing expert clinical advice to both patients and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

The ideal candidate is a licensed professional with a deep understanding of ethical medicines and the leadership skills necessary to supervise a high-functioning pharmacy department.

Requirements:

Clinical Oversight & Dispensing

• Medication Management: Oversee the accurate preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring all prescriptions align with clinical best practices.

• Therapy Monitoring: Monitor drug therapies for efficacy and safety, identifying potential drug interactions or adverse reactions to improve patient outcomes.

• Consultative Services: Provide expert advice to healthcare providers regarding drug selection and dosage, and offer comprehensive counseling to patients.

Operational & Inventory Leadership

• Cold Chain Integrity: Maintain rigorous standards for the cold chain management of temperature-sensitive products, ensuring zero compromise in product stability.

• Inventory Control: Lead the procurement and management of inventory, including rare and ethical medicines, to ensure consistent availability and waste reduction.

• Staff Supervision: Manage and mentor junior pharmacy staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, professionalism, and continuous learning.

Compliance & Administration

• Regulatory Adherence: Ensure the pharmacy operates in full compliance with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) and other relevant regulatory bodies.

• Accurate Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all medications dispensed, narcotics control, and pharmaceutical interventions.

• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and safe medication use.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Pharm.D from a recognized institution.

• Licensure: Valid and current Pharmacist License registered with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).

• Experience: * Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a licensed pharmacist.

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or senior capacity.

  • Experience in critical care or working with rare ethical medicines is considered a significant advantage.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in pharmaceutical preparation and modern inventory management.

  • Competence in utilizing pharmacy management software.

  • Deep knowledge of drug safety protocols and regulatory requirements in Nigeria.
