Job Description:

We are seeking a chartered, detail-oriented, and industry-savvy Senior Accountant to lead our finance function. This is a high-stakes role that requires more than just traditional ledger management; it demands a deep understanding of the poultry industry’s unique value chain—from feed-to-stock conversion to the management of biological assets.

As a mandatory ICAN-certified professional, you will be responsible for the absolute integrity of our financial records. You will oversee complex inventory movements, manage fixed asset registers, and lead the charge in month-end and year-end closings. Requirements:

1. Inventory & Biological Asset Management

• Poultry Stock Accounting: Lead the accounting for stock movements, ensuring a clear understanding of the lifecycle of biological assets and their impact on the balance sheet.

• ERP Workflow Mastery: Direct the end-to-end documentation flow, ensuring every PO (Purchase Order), GRN (Goods Received Note), RV (Receipt Voucher), and PV (Payment Voucher) is perfectly reconciled.

• Valuation & Validation: Review and validate inventory transactions to ensure proper classification, cost-to-market valuation, and budget compliance.

2. Fixed Assets & Financial Reporting

• Asset Governance: Maintain a rigorous Fixed Asset Register (FAR), managing additions, disposals, and depreciation, while coordinating regular physical verifications.

• Closing Operations: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all accruals and prepaid expense amortizations are recorded with 100% accuracy.

• Management Insight: Prepare detailed expense analyses and financial reports that provide management with actionable data for strategic decision-making.

3. Compliance & Audit Leadership

• Regulatory Rigor: Ensure all accounting entries and financial statements comply fully with IFRS and internal control policies.

• Audit Stewardship: Prepare all required schedules, reconciliations, and documentation to ensure smooth internal and external audit cycles.

• Process Engineering: Proactively identify gaps in financial systems and controls, implementing improvements that enhance speed and accuracy.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Certification: ICAN Certification is MANDATORY. (CPA is an added advantage).

• Experience: 5–7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity.

• Industry Focus: Prior experience in the Poultry or Agricultural sector is highly preferred.

Technical Stack

• ERP Proficiency: Advanced hands-on knowledge of SAP, Oracle, or similar enterprise systems.

• Excel Mastery: Expert-level skills in Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and complex financial modeling.

• Standard Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of IFRS and local financial regulations.
