Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and reliable Accountant to ensure the financial health and integrity of our organization. You will be responsible for the full cycle of financial accounting, from daily transaction recording to complex financial reporting, tax compliance, and internal audits. The ideal candidate is a numbers-driven professional who possesses a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of Nigerian tax regulations, and the ability to maintain robust internal control systems.
Requirements:
Financial Operations & Reporting
Record Keeping: Maintain precise journals, ledgers, and accounts, ensuring all daily transactions are accurately documented and classified.
Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.
Reconciliation: Conduct regular bank and general ledger reconciliations, proactively investigating and resolving any financial discrepancies.
Tax & Compliance
Tax Management: Calculate tax liabilities, prepare and file returns, and ensure strict compliance with all relevant Nigerian tax laws and regulatory requirements.
Audit Support: Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and oversee the implementation of audit recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
Accounts & Controls
AP/AR Oversight: Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes to ensure timely supplier payments and client collections.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor working capital to maintain healthy cash flow.
Internal Controls: Strengthen internal systems to prevent fraud, mismanagement, and ensure full adherence to company financial policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional Proficiency: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and Nigerian tax laws.
Analytical Skills: Advanced ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
Tech-Savviness: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Soft Skills: High level of integrity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to drive financial accuracy.
