Job Description:
We are seeking a high-energy and strategically minded Sales Representative to drive the distribution of our products across the Lagos retail landscape. In the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, success is determined by "Shelf Dominance", the ability to ensure our products are not only available but are the primary choice for retailers and wholesalers alike. This role is designed for a "Market Hunter", a professional with 2–3 years of experience who can blend the physical grit of daily route sales with the negotiation skills required to onboard high-volume outlets.
Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Stockouts and Maximum Brand Visibility." You will be the face of the brand in the field: responsible for managing daily sales routes, monitoring competitor pricing, and building unbreakable relationships with distributors. If you possess "Field Grit" and a deep understanding of the Lagos retail ecosystem, we want you to scale our market presence.
Requirements:
1. Route Governance & Market Availability
Daily Sales Maneuvers: Execute a rigorous daily sales route, visiting retail outlets and wholesalers to place orders and verify product placement.
Inventory Stewardship: Actively monitor stock levels at customer locations, facilitating timely replenishment to ensure our products are never "out of stock."
Expansion Strategy: Proactively identify and onboard new retail outlets within your assigned territory to increase the brand's numeric distribution.
2. Brand Visibility & Competitive Intelligence
Merchandising Excellence: Ensure maximum product visibility and optimal shelf positioning within every outlet to influence consumer purchasing decisions.
Competitor Surveillance: Provide real-time feedback on competitor activities, including new product launches, pricing shifts, and promotional tactics.
Market Trend Analysis: Identify emerging retail trends within the Lagos market to help the brand adapt its sales approach and promotional offers.
3. Relationship Management & Reporting Accuracy
Retailer Advocacy: Build and maintain strong, high-trust relationships with shop owners and distributors, serving as their primary point of contact for the company.
Performance Reporting: Maintain meticulous sales records and submit daily reports on targets achieved, orders placed, and market feedback.
Target Alignment: Drive consistent efforts to meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales volume targets.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Minimum of OND, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
Experience: 2–3 years of proven sales experience specifically within FMCG distribution or retail sales.
Market Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the Lagos retail markets and traditional trade channels.
Core Competencies
Negotiation Grit: Strong persuasive skills to convert hesitant retailers and secure better shelf space.
Field Resilience: The ability to work independently in the field and manage the physical demands of a daily sales route.
