Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our project team. In this role, you will serve as the financial and contractual conscience of our construction projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are delivered within budget without compromising quality, managing the commercial risks, and ensuring that our procurement and contractual processes deliver maximum value.

Requirements:

• Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation during the pre-construction phase.

• Budget Management: Monitor project expenditure, track variations, and manage overall construction budgets to ensure financial targets are met.

• Contract Administration: Assist in the preparation and negotiation of construction contracts, ensuring terms are favorable and mitigate risk to the organization.

• Procurement: Oversee the procurement of materials and sub-contracting services, ensuring competitive pricing and high standards.

• Value Management: Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements throughout the project lifecycle.

• Reporting: Provide regular financial status reports to management, highlighting risks, variances, and project performance metrics.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying or a closely related field.

• Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in construction or project management.

• Technical Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of construction contracts, procurement strategies, and cost control mechanisms.

  • High level of proficiency in MS Excel and relevant industry-standard project management software.

• Professional Certification: Membership or active participation in the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) is considered a significant advantage.

• Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.

  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
