About Company:
Worknigeria was established with a Singular Vision. To help the vast Nigerian workforce find meaningful jobs. We are also on a mission to upskill them in the best ways possible and help them grow with and within their careers.
Job Description:
We are seeking a technically rigorous Process Engineer to drive the design and optimization of our oil and gas projects. In this role, you will support the Process Lead in maintaining the technical integrity of all deliverables, ensuring that our facilities are not only efficient but inherently safe and operable.
From developing complex HYSYS simulations to participating in high-stakes HAZOP sessions, you will be the custodian of the process design basis. You will translate FEED requirements into actionable P&IDs, datasheets, and control narratives, working across disciplines to ensure a seamless transition from engineering to commissioning.
Requirements:
1. Front-End & Detailed Engineering Design
System Modeling: Develop and update Heat and Material Balances (HMB) and line lists for complex facility systems and integrated packages.
Diagram Architecture: Lead the development and review of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), ensuring alignment with project philosophies.
Equipment Sizing: Perform rigorous design calculations and simulations to size key equipment (separators, pumps, heat exchangers, etc.) ensuring they meet performance criteria.
2. Process Safety & Technical Integrity
Safety Integration: Actively participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL reviews, ensuring that all safety and operability requirements are baked into the final design.
Standardization: Ensure all deliverables comply with international codes (API, ASME, ISO) and client-specific standards, supporting the Process Lead in technical audits.
Control Philosophies: Author control narratives and operating philosophies that define how the facility will be safely managed during normal, transient, and emergency operations.
3. Multi-Discipline Integration & Operational Support
Inter-Discipline Synergy: Provide critical process inputs to Mechanical, Piping, and Instrumentation teams, facilitating Inter-Discipline Checks (IDC) to ensure model consistency.
Vendor Management: Review technical vendor documents and FAT/SAT procedures, resolving Technical Queries (RFIs/TQs) from contractors and clients.
Commissioning & Startup: Support field operations during performance tests and startup, providing troubleshooting and optimization expertise for existing brownfield or new greenfield facilities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a Process Engineer within Oil & Gas services (EPC/EPCI).
Technical Software: Proficiency in process simulation tools such as Aspen HYSYS or UniSim.
Core Competencies
Engineering Rigor: Hands-on experience developing PFDs, P&IDs, and process datasheets from first principles.
Analytical Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve complex technical discrepancies and optimize process configurations for maximum throughput.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating within multi-discipline teams and presenting technical solutions to stakeholders.
Detail Oriented: High attention to technical accuracy and documentation integrity.
