Job Description:
Dispensing & Clinical Care: Accurately dispense prescription and OTC medications. Review every prescription for dosage accuracy, potential interactions, and contraindications.
Patient Counseling: Act as a primary healthcare resource, providing patients with clear guidance on medication usage, storage, and potential side effects to promote rational drug use.
Inventory & Cold Chain Management: Oversee stock levels, monitor expiry dates, and conduct rigorous reconciliations. Ensure all medications, especially vaccines and biologicals, are stored according to specific temperature requirements.
Regulatory & Ethical Compliance: Maintain 100% compliance with PCN (Pharmacist Council of Nigeria) and NAFDAC standards. Manage controlled drug registers and ensure meticulous documentation of all pharmacy records.
Operational Leadership: Supervise pharmacy assistants and interns, ensuring the facility remains organized, sanitized, and professional.
Reporting & Quality Control: Participate in internal audits and prepare periodic performance reports for management to drive service improvement.
Requirements:
Expert knowledge of pharmacology and therapeutics.
Strong leadership ability for supervising junior staff and interns.
Excellent empathetic communication and problem-solving skills.
High level of professional integrity and attention to detail.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
Licensure: A current, valid PCN license to practice in Nigeria is mandatory.
National Service: NYSC Discharge Certificate or official Exemption Letter.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a community or hospital pharmacy setting. Proficiency with pharmacy dispensing and inventory software is a strong advantage.
Location: Candidates must reside within Akwa Ibom or Cross River State (or be willing to relocate).
