Job Description:
We are seeking a high-stakes Operations Manager to take full ownership of our hotel’s performance in Abuja. This is not a "behind-the-desk" role; it is a leadership position designed for a strategic operator who can harmonize world-class guest services with a clinical focus on occupancy targets.
You will be the primary bridge between the staff and ownership, responsible for building an autonomous, high-performing team. Your success will be measured by two primary metrics: the seamlessness of daily operations (Housekeeping, F&B, Maintenance) and your ability to lock in high-value corporate accounts in the competitive Abuja market.
Requirements:
1. Operational Leadership & Systems Governance
Interdepartmental Synergy: Oversee Front Desk, Housekeeping, F&B, and Maintenance, ensuring all "Moving Parts" of the hotel align with brand standards.
PMS Mastery: Actively utilize the Property Management System (eZee Absolute or similar) to monitor real-time occupancy, track guest data, and generate technical reports.
Performance Culture: Manage staff scheduling and discipline, moving the team toward a self-sustaining model that functions at peak efficiency without constant intervention.
2. Corporate Sales & Revenue Architecture
Occupancy Growth: Own the hotel’s occupancy targets. You are responsible for identifying, pitching, and closing high-value corporate contracts.
Rate Integrity: Implement and defend a premium rate strategy, ensuring the hotel maintains its market positioning while resisting unsupported discounting.
Pipeline Management: Build a robust database of corporate clients within the FCT, conducting site visits and direct outreach to secure long-term bookings.
3. Reporting, Accountability & Guest Experience
Formal Reporting: Maintain a strict reporting discipline, submitting weekly occupancy data and monthly revenue summaries to ownership.
Issue Escalation: Provide formal, written documentation for operational gaps, staff performance issues, and guest complaints.
Resolution Excellence: Ensure guest complaints are not just resolved, but analyzed to prevent recurrence, maintaining the hotel’s reputation for premium service.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Experience: 5–10 years in hospitality management, with a minimum of 2 years in a senior leadership role.
Track Record: Proven ability to drive occupancy and manage a corporate sales pipeline.
Technical Savvy: Hands-on experience with PMS (Property Management Systems) is essential.
Communication: Exceptional formal writing skills and the ability to coordinate complex interdepartmental workflows.
Preferred Attributes
Market Intelligence: Deep familiarity with the Abuja corporate hospitality landscape and existing client relationships in the FCT.
Education: Degree or Professional Certification in Hospitality Management or Business Administration.
Availability: Must be based in Abuja or ready to relocate immediately.
