About Company:
Linkcity Gas Network Limited (LGN) is a leading Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG Propane) distributor and Service Company in Nigeria, providing utility services and cost-effective solutions for industrial and domestic power generation.
Job Description:
We are seeking a technically rigorous and project-focused Mechanical Engineer to lead our energy infrastructure initiatives in Lagos. In the Nigerian power and industrial sector, success is defined by "Operational Integrity", the ability to design, install, and commission gas distribution systems that meet stringent safety and efficiency standards. This role is designed for a "Systems Architect", a professional with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering who can blend "CAD Precision" with the "Field Grit" required to oversee high-pressure gas pipe laying and reticulation projects.
Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Defect Pipeline Engineering and Seamless Project Commissioning." You will be the primary technical steward for our Natural Gas and LPG distribution systems: responsible for creating complex machine designs, supervising field works, and driving R&D initiatives to optimize service delivery. If you possess "Analytical Mastery," a track record in gas reticulation, and the ability to coordinate diverse project teams, we want you to drive our engineering excellence.
Requirements:
1. Gas Reticulation & Pipeline Engineering
Infrastructure Design: Lead the design and development of mechanical components and systems specifically for Natural Gas and LPG reticulation.
Technical Documentation: Prepare high-fidelity technical drawings, machine designs, and comprehensive project documentation using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
Supervisory Governance: Oversee on-site gas pipe laying works, ensuring all installations align with engineering specifications and safety protocols.
2. Project Coordination & Quality Assurance
Cross-Functional Synergy: Coordinate seamlessly with contractors, inspectors, and project teams to ensure project milestones are met without compromising technical standards.
Testing & Commissioning: Lead the rigorous testing and commissioning phases of pipeline projects, verifying system integrity before final handover.
Regulatory Liaison: Ensure all mechanical designs and field works comply with COREN and other relevant Nigerian engineering and safety regulations.
3. R&D & Process Optimization
Innovation Architecture: Conduct Research and Development (R&D) to identify and implement innovative solutions that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
Problem-Solving Rigor: Apply advanced analytical skills to resolve complex engineering challenges in real-time, focusing on the practical application of mechanical principles.
Project Management Mastery: Utilize structured project management methodologies to deliver infrastructure projects on time, within budget, and to specification.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Sector Mastery: Proven experience with Natural Gas and LPG distribution systems and gas reticulation projects.
Technical Mastery: High proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Mechanical Engineering principles (Machine Design, Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics).
Core Competencies
Analytical Grit: Strong skills in practical problem-solving and the ability to translate theoretical designs into functional field assets.
Project Leadership: Experience in managing the lifecycle of engineering projects from design to commissioning.
Collaborative Spirit: The ability to work effectively both independently and within multi-disciplinary project teams.
