Job Description:

We are currently scaling our operations in Kano and are seeking a talented, results-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our expanding team. You will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our power plant’s mechanical infrastructure. If you are a seasoned professional with deep expertise in Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and are eager to take on new technical challenges in a growth-focused environment, we want to hear from you.

Requirements:

• O&M Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical plant systems, including turbines, pumps, boilers, and auxiliary equipment.

• Maintenance Strategy: Execute rigorous preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability.

• Troubleshooting & Repair: Conduct root cause analysis on mechanical failures, implementing effective repairs and long-term solutions to minimize downtime.

• Performance Monitoring: Analyze mechanical system data to optimize plant performance and ensure operations remain within safe and efficient design parameters.

• Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and industry regulations to maintain a hazard-free work site.

• Technical Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation regarding equipment health, maintenance logs, and project progress for management review.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Operations & Maintenance (O&M) strictly within a power plant environment.

• Technical Proficiency: Proven hands-on experience with rotating equipment, thermal systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.

• Operational Acumen: Strong understanding of power generation processes, plant safety, and reliability-centered maintenance.

• Soft Skills: A collaborative mindset, strong problem-solving abilities, and a drive for continuous professional development.

• Location: Must be based in or able to work on-site in Kano.
