Job Description:
- To ensure the accuracy, accountability, and compliance of logistics and financial operations by verifying daily sales, dispatch expenses, receivables, and system postings; implementing effective internal controls; and conducting comprehensive reviews of revenue remittances, spare part usage, terminal transactions, and reconciliation processes, with the goal of safeguarding assets and enhancing operational efficiency in a logistics-focused environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of daily sales reports from Stations
- Verify sales and expenses related to dispatch vehicles.
- Check the accuracy of logistics log entries in the Busy software.
- Monitor and ensure timely collection and accurate recording of logistics receivables.
- Analyze and report on the logistics e-ticketing system's performance.
- Verify internal parcel transactions among stations.
- Propose and implement effective internal controls for logistics services.
- Evaluate and ensure compliance with management policies at terminals.
- Ensure proper use and documentation of sensitive operational materials.
- Verify compliance of revenue remittances by cross-checking bank statements and company software.
- Identify and escalate any instances of fraud or mismanagement of funds.
- Ensure proper documentation and verification of purchased parts.
- Ensure all spare parts received are verified by a mechanic.
- Conduct cash count reconciliations and reviews for the corporate office.
- Verify disbursements to CPS in Abuja and Onitsha and expense retirements.
- Perform monthly aged analysis on uncollected logistics waybills.
- Assess the monthly performance of logistics bikes.
- Conduct monthly reviews of demurrage due and collected by stations.
- Verify lodgment transactions at various stations.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of all logistics payment and posting transactions.
- Examine POS transactions and verify terminal lodgments for policy compliance.
- Maintain and review the POS settlement and reconciliation ledger accounts.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of bank reconciliation statements for logistics.
- Examine company accounts and financial control systems for accuracy and compliance.

Requirements:
Education:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related fields
- Professional certification – ICAN, ACCA, CPA, CIA or equivalent
Experience:
- Proven 2-5 years of relevant experience in internal audit, Financial control or risk management
- Hands-on experience in Accounting and Audit Software

- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of the NIPOST rules and regulations.
- Good knowledge of Audit principles and processes
- In-depth understanding of GAAP or similar accounting framework
- Demonstrate adequate exchange rate application across-borders
- Deep knowledge of Cashbook Management, and Bank reconciliation
- Ability to build rapport and cross network among Junior and Senior Staff
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams towards achieving operational goals.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in using computer software for data analysis and reporting (e.g., Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
