Job Description:
We are seeking a high-velocity and analytically elite Internal Auditor to anchor the protective engine of our operations. In the specialized landscape of the Nigerian Oil and Gas sector, success is defined by "Assurance Sovereignty", the ability to harmonize complex regulatory frameworks (NUPRC, NMDPRA, NIMASA) with the clinical precision required for Internal Control Evaluation, Risk Management, and Financial Transparency. This role is designed for a "Control Architect" with 3–5 years of experience who can blend "Audit Grit" (conducting field and financial audits) with the "Strategic Agility" required to navigate the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and prevent revenue leakages.
Requirements:
1. Audit Orchestration & Governance
Assurance Sovereignty: Develop and implement risk-based annual audit plans with millimetric focus, acting as the primary "Source of Institutional Certainty."
Standards Architecture: Ensure all audits align with local and international standards (IPPF), providing the "Structural Foundation" for credible financial oversight.
Methodology Stewardship: Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits to assess policy adherence, ensuring the "Source of Procedural Truth" is elite and uncompromised.
2. Tactical Resilience & Sector Logic
Regulatory Sovereignty: Ensure strict adherence to Nigerian laws specific to the energy sector (NPA, NUPRC, NMDPRA), acting as the primary "Source of Legal Protection."
Leakage Architecture: Perform targeted audits on revenue, procurement, and inventory to identify inefficiencies, providing the "Analytical Foundation" for cost optimization.
Compliance Stewardship: Coordinate with regulatory authorities during external audits, maintaining the "Source of Statutory Integrity."
3. Operational Integrity & Fraud Prevention
Detection Sovereignty: Identify and investigate instances of fraud, corruption, or mismanagement, acting as the primary "Source of Ethical Vetting."
Mitigation Architecture: Develop internal controls to prevent financial leakage and ensure transparency, providing the "Protective Foundation" for company assets.
Velocity Logic: Utilize 3–5 years of specialized industry experience to provide actionable recommendations to management in real-time, maximizing the "Source of Operational Throughput."
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Experience: 3 – 5 years of audit experience, preferably within the Oil and Gas industry.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certification: ACA or ACCA is mandatory; CIA or CISA is highly preferred.
Knowledge Base: Deep understanding of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and Nigerian regulatory frameworks.
