Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Veterinary Doctor to lead our clinical and diagnostic operations. In this role, you will bridge the gap between industrial poultry health management and specialized small animal medicine. Your mission is to provide life-saving diagnostic, surgical, and advisory services that ensure the productivity of our farm clients and the well-being of companion animals.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on clinician with a "diagnostic-first" mindset, capable of interpreting complex laboratory results to develop effective treatment plans. Requirements:
1. Poultry Health Management & Biosecurity
Clinical Diagnosis: Lead the identification and management of viral, bacterial, and nutritional diseases in poultry flocks.
Advisory Excellence: Educate farm clients on rigorous vaccination schedules, biosecurity protocols, and best management practices (BMPs) to minimize mortality and maximize yield.
Epidemiological Surveillance: Monitor disease trends and provide early intervention strategies to protect regional poultry assets.
2. Small Animal Clinical Practice
Comprehensive Care: Provide expert consultation, diagnostic imaging, and medical treatments for companion animals.
Surgical Proficiency: Perform routine and emergency soft-tissue surgeries with a focus on anesthesia safety and post-operative recovery.
Nutrition & Wellness: Advise pet owners on long-term wellness plans, including pediatric care, geriatric support, and specialized nutrition.
3. Laboratory Integration & Record Governance
Diagnostic Interpretation: Leverage laboratory findings (hematology, serology, necropsy) to build data-backed treatment protocols.
Ethical Stewardship: Maintain meticulous clinical records and ensure 100% compliance with VCN (Veterinary Council of Nigeria) regulations and professional ethics.
Operational Leadership: Work independently to manage caseloads while collaborating cross-functionally to support divisional growth.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from a recognized institution.
Licensing: Must possess a valid and current practicing license.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years post-NYSC clinical experience, with a documented track record in poultry and small animal practice.
Core Competencies
Diagnostic IQ: Strong ability to interpret clinical signs and laboratory data accurately.
Surgical Skill: Proven hands-on experience in small animal surgical procedures.
