Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and highly organized Human Resources Officer to join our team in Lagos. This role is designed for a versatile HR professional capable of balancing high-level recruitment with meticulous administration and employee engagement. You will serve as a vital link between management and staff, ensuring that our talent life cycle from sourcing and onboarding to performance management and payroll support is executed with excellence and strict adherence to labor regulations.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong ethical backbone, a high level of professionalism, and the ability to navigate the complexities of a structured organizational environment.

Requirements:

Recruitment & Talent Integration

  • Full-Cycle Staffing: Support end-to-end recruitment activities, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and comprehensive reference checks.

  • Onboarding Excellence: Prepare offer letters and contracts, and coordinate induction programs to ensure new hires are seamlessly integrated into the company culture.

  • Tracking: Maintain detailed recruitment trackers and candidate records for future talent pipelines.

Employee Relations & Performance

  • Staff Advisory: Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, promoting positive relations and managing engagement initiatives.

  • Performance Oversight: Monitor appraisal timelines, support the implementation of performance management systems, and track employee improvement plans.

  • Disciplinary Management: Assist in resolving workplace issues and grievances in accordance with company policy and professional ethics.

Administration & Compliance

  • Record Management: Maintain accurate, confidential HR databases and physical employee files, including attendance, leave records, and key HR metrics.

  • Payroll Liaison: Provide accurate employee data for monthly payroll preparation and assist with the administration of statutory remittances and benefits.

  • Legal Adherence: Ensure all activities comply with organizational policies and Nigerian labor laws, supporting the regular review of HR procedures.

Learning & Development

  • Capacity Building: Coordinate staff training programs and learning initiatives to support organizational development.

  • Evaluation: Maintain training records and evaluate the impact of participation on employee performance.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Degree: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline.

  • Certification: Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, or HRCI) is a significant advantage.

  • Experience: 2–4 years of relevant HR experience. Experience working within a school or a highly structured organization is highly preferred.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Domain Knowledge: Strong grasp of HR principles and current labor regulations.

  • Technical Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and modern HRIS/HR systems.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal communication, problem-solving abilities, and a high level of confidentiality.

  • Organization: Strong administrative skills with a meticulous eye for detail.
