Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned, strategic, and operations-focused Head of Human Resources to lead our people function across all operational states in Nigeria. You will be the architect of our organizational culture and the guardian of our talent management systems. This role requires a leader who can balance high-level organizational development with the practical demands of a geographically dispersed, field-based workforce. Requirements:
Strategic HR Leadership: Oversee the full spectrum of HR, including recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and policy development.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Lead recruitment efforts across all departments and states, ensuring that new hires are effectively grounded in our mission and values.
L&D and Capability Building: Design staff development initiatives and tracking systems; coordinate capacity assessments in partnership with department heads.
Performance Management: Manage the performance review cycle, ensuring it remains a tool for both staff growth and the achievement of organizational objectives.
Compliance & Employee Relations: Ensure full adherence to Nigerian labour laws and employment regulations. Manage grievances, disciplinary procedures, and complex workplace investigations with high integrity.
Organizational Development (OD): Lead OD initiatives that support our organizational growth and operational scale.
Administration & Payroll: Maintain accurate staff records, contracts, and HR documentation while coordinating payroll processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Management, or a related field.
Professional Certification: CIPM membership or equivalent is mandatory.
Experience: 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2–3 years in a senior HR leadership capacity.
Multi-site Expertise: Proven track record of managing HR functions across multiple states or sites within Nigeria.
Preferred Industries: Experience in agriculture, agribusiness, manufacturing, or logistics, particularly within donor-funded program environments, is highly desirable.
