Job Description:

1. Strategic Market Expansion

• Develop and execute national POS and merchant acquisition strategies targeting SMEs, retail chains, fuel stations, and transport hubs.

• Define and optimize commercial models, including MDR (Merchant Discount Rate), terminal fees, and settlement pricing to drive P&L growth.

2. Agency Banking & Merchant Management

• Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and lifecycle management of Tier 1, 2, and 3 agents, ensuring consistent liquidity and float availability.

• Drive merchant activation and retention, optimizing transaction throughput and reducing terminal dormancy.

3. Operations & Terminal Management

• Manage the deployment, maintenance, and technical uptime of POS terminals in collaboration with vendors and PTSPs.

• Streamline settlements, chargebacks, and dispute resolution processes while maintaining rigorous fraud prevention standards.

4. Revenue & Product Optimization

• Maximize revenue through diverse channels: Cash-in/Cash-out (CICO), transfers, bill payments, USSD, and QR payments.

• Partner with product teams to upgrade POS software, reconciliation dashboards, and real-time monitoring tools.

5. Leadership & Compliance

• Lead nationwide field teams and agent networks, ensuring operational excellence through standardized SOPs.

• Ensure 100% compliance with CBN regulations, KYC/AML frameworks, and consumer protection standards.

Requirements:

• Commercial Acumen: Strong analytical skills with a track record of managing high-volume P&L accounts.

• Leadership: Experience managing distributed field teams and large-scale merchant operations.

• Regulatory Fluency: Comprehensive knowledge of financial inclusion policies and KYC/AML compliance.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Industry Expertise: Proven experience in POS acquiring, agency banking, and switching platforms.

• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of NIBSS operations, payment gateways, and settlement systems.
