Job Description:

Lagoon Hospitals is seeking a strategic, visionary, and results-driven Human Resources Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources practices and operations. As a key executive partner and coach, you will serve as an active member of the Medical Directors’ Committee, localizing and implementing the Group’s people programs and service delivery strategies.

You will be responsible for driving organizational growth, enhancing decision-making, and fostering a high-performance culture across all hospital facilities. This role requires a leader capable of balancing long-range strategic planning with day-to-day operational excellence in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Requirements:

Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Executive Partnership: Act as a strategic business advisor to Medical Directors and Departmental Heads regarding workforce planning, engagement, and management issues.

  • Organizational Design: Implement strategic planning initiatives, change management, and organizational design that reflect a dynamic, competitive business environment.

  • Culture Building: Clearly communicate and embed the business’s values at all levels, fostering an engaging, high-performance culture.

  • Collaboration: Partner with the Group Head of HR and Medical Directors to drive the human capital agenda, ensuring strategies align with broader business objectives.

Financial & Analytical Oversight

  • Budgeting & Cost Control: Conscientiously manage staff costs, ensuring they align with the budget and are optimized as a percentage of revenue.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Collect and analyze HR data to identify strategic needs, gaps, and risks.

  • ERP Utilization: Leverage ERP tools to identify, align, and build human capital capabilities to achieve desired business targets.

Talent, Learning & Development

  • Talent Management: Formulate strategies that lead to quality and depth in the workforce, ensuring talent acquisition aligns with business growth and expansion.

  • L&D Strategy: Develop and improve the Knowledge, Skill, and Attitude (KSA) of the workforce. Design e-learning courses, workshops, and career plans while maintaining all activities within budget.

  • Leadership Development: Build business management and leadership skills to cultivate a strong management team.

Compliance & Operational Excellence

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure HR processes and policies align with hospital accreditation standards, specifically Joint Commission International (JCI).

  • Policy Implementation: Lead the formulation, development, and implementation of key HR strategies, frameworks, and procedures.

  • Legal Oversight: Monitor the labor landscape to ensure full compliance with regulatory frameworks and manage immigration processes for international staff.

  • Employee Relations: Facilitate out-of-work bonding activities, employee surveys, compensation surveys, and townhall meetings. Act as a mediator in conflict resolution.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • First Degree: Humanities or Social Sciences.

  • Master’s Degree: Human Resources or a related discipline.

  • Professional Certification: Must be a registered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN), Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD), or similar recognized professional body.

Experience:

  • Senior Experience: A minimum of 10 years of working experience in a senior Human Resources position (e.g., Head of HR & Administration, HR Business Partner, or Talent Acquisition Manager).

  • Track Record: Proven experience delivering innovative HR programs within a fast-paced, wide organizational setting.

  • Team Leadership: Demonstrated success in managing an HR team through program inception to objective attainment.

  • Strategic Influence: Proven ability to advise and influence business leaders, providing insights that lead to key decision-making.

  • Business Acumen: Strong general management capabilities with the ability to assess internal business environments and drive transformative change.
