Job Description:
We are seeking a highly competent and experienced Energy Manager to lead our sustainability and power optimization efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring strategies to optimize energy usage, reduce operational costs, and drive a transition toward cleaner energy solutions across all our facilities.
The ideal candidate is a technical expert who can balance the management of traditional power systems with the implementation of renewable energy projects, ensuring an uninterrupted power supply for critical operations and high-profile events.
Requirements:
Strategic Energy Management
Sustainability Leadership: Lead the transition to cleaner energy sources while maintaining a 100% uptime for all facility operations.
Energy Auditing: Conduct comprehensive audits and analyze consumption patterns to identify areas for conservation and cost reduction.
Initiative Implementation: Develop and execute energy-saving programs designed to achieve measurable financial and operational savings.
Technical Operations & Maintenance
Systems Oversight: Supervise the operation and maintenance of generators, HVAC systems, industrial chillers, and renewable energy installations.
Project Management: Lead solar and inverter projects from conception to completion, ensuring technical excellence and budget adherence.
Utility Relations: Manage strategic relationships with utility providers, including IBEDC, to ensure stable supply and accurate billing.
Compliance & Reporting
Regulatory Alignment: Ensure all energy operations comply with NESREA guidelines, NERC codes, and ISO 50001 standards.
Data Analysis: Prepare monthly performance reports, budget forecasts, and energy data for senior management review.
Training & SOPs: Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for energy management and train staff on efficiency best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: B.Eng. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering.
Professional Status: COREN registration is mandatory.
Certification: Being a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is a strong advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in energy management, preferably within a large-scale organization or facility.
Expertise in managing solar/inverter projects and complex HVAC systems.
Technical Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) codes and efficiency laws.
Proficiency in Excel and advanced energy monitoring tools for data interpretation.
Core Competencies:
Excellent project management and vendor negotiation skills.
Ability to remain calm and resolve power-related issues promptly under pressure during major events.
High level of integrity, innovation, and meticulous attention to detail.
