Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Officer to oversee the technical and structural integrity of our facility in Ikoyi. In this role, you will be the backbone of our operations, ensuring that all guest rooms, public areas, and mechanical systems are in peak condition.

The ideal candidate is a multi-talented technician who can balance scheduled preventive maintenance with rapid-response repairs, all while maintaining the high standards of safety and aesthetics expected in a premium Lagos location.

Requirements:

Technical Systems & Facility Maintenance

• Preventive Care: Schedule and perform routine checks on HVAC systems, boilers, water treatment systems, and electrical components to avoid operational downtime.

• Facility Repairs: Execute a wide range of repairs including furniture fixing, faucet and lock replacements, painting, and drywall restoration based on guest or housekeeping requests.

• Specialized Systems: Maintain and operate major machinery, including elevators, commercial laundry equipment, kitchen appliances, and swimming pool filtration systems.

Safety, Compliance & Sustainability

• Safety Protocols: Regularly test fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and emergency lighting to ensure 100% compliance with local health and safety regulations.

• Energy Management: Monitor consumption patterns and optimize equipment performance to drive down operational costs and improve sustainability.

• Emergency Response: Provide immediate technical intervention during emergencies, such as power outages, water leaks, or system failures.

Exterior & Resource Management

• Upkeep: Oversee the building’s exterior presence, including the facade, parking lot lighting, and general landscaping.

• Vendor & Stock Control: Track maintenance inventory and manage external contractors for specialized technical repairs, ensuring all work meets company standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: Proven experience as a Maintenance Officer or Technician, preferably within a hotel, luxury residential complex, or large commercial facility.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

  • Proficiency in general handiwork (painting, carpentry, masonry).

  • Experience with pool maintenance and industrial kitchen/laundry equipment.

• Core Competencies:

  • Reliability: High sense of urgency and the ability to work independently.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues.

  • Communication: Ability to work effectively with the housekeeping and front office teams to resolve guest issues.

• Attributes: Disciplined, detail-oriented, and able to maintain a professional appearance in a guest-facing environment.
