Job Description:
JNO Integrated Services is seeking a visionary Country Programme Manager to spearhead the strategic and operational leadership of a prominent Foundation’s mission in Nigeria. This is a high-stakes role designed for a seasoned NGO professional who can translate global organizational goals into impactful, localized community interventions. You will be the primary architect of programme quality, the lead advocate for vulnerable populations, and the custodian of donor trust. Requirements:
1. Strategic Programme Leadership
Mission Alignment: Design and execute the country programme strategy, ensuring every intervention maps directly back to the Foundation’s core objectives.
Risk & Security Management: Proactively monitor political, security, and operational risks within the Nigerian landscape, providing the Board with strategic updates and mitigation plans.
Accountability Framework: Uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability to beneficiaries, donors, and government stakeholders.
2. MEAL & Quality Assurance
Evidence-Based Management: Oversee the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems to ensure data-driven decision-making and adaptive programming.
Field Governance: Conduct regular performance reviews and field visits to ensure quality assurance and safeguarding standards are maintained at the "last mile."
Documentation & Learning: Promote a culture of documentation where "lessons learned" are systematically integrated into future project designs.
3. Advocacy & Partnership Synergy
High-Level Representation: Act as the primary envoy to government agencies, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and religious institutions at national and state levels.
Stakeholder Coordination: Synchronize the efforts of community partners and stakeholders to ensure a unified approach to service delivery.
Visibility Strategy: Leverage digital platforms and social media to enhance the organization’s visibility and engagement with the wider development community.
4. People Leadership & Safeguarding
Team Empowerment: Supervise a multidisciplinary programme team, focusing on performance management, professional growth, and mentorship.
Safeguarding Excellence: Ensure that safeguarding policies are not just documented but lived out across all field operations to protect vulnerable beneficiaries.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Foundation
Academic: Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree in International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field is highly advantageous.
Technical: High proficiency in MS Office and modern ICT/Project Management tools.
Professional Background
Core Experience: Minimum of 6 years in NGO programme management, specifically within the OVC (Orphans and Vulnerable Children) or related social development sectors.
Large-Scale Impact: Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-site development programmes in Nigeria.
Advocacy Track Record: Demonstrable success in navigating Nigerian government institutions and development partner networks.
Core Competencies
Strategic Thinking: Ability to architect long-term strategy alongside leadership skills.
Financial Stewardship: Strong background in budgeting, financial reporting, and grant management.
Linguistic Skill: Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in a major Nigerian local language is a distinct advantage.
