Job Description:
We are seeking a high-octane Business Development Manager to lead our sales and activations engine in Lagos. In the world of sports and entertainment, a partnership is only as good as its execution. This role is the bridge between boardroom commerciality and the "roar of the crowd."
Your mission is dual-faceted: you will hunt for new sponsorship revenue while simultaneously architecting the fan-engagement campaigns that make those brands iconic. You are not just a salesperson; you are a brand storyteller and an experiential marketer. If you have 3–5 years of experience in the sports/entertainment sector and a proven track record of hitting aggressive revenue targets, we invite you to lead our commercial frontier.
Requirements:
1. Revenue Architecture & Sales Lifecycle
Deal Sourcing: Manage the end-to-end sales cycle—from prospecting high-value corporate sponsors to negotiating multi-layered partnership agreements.
Proposal Engineering: Develop data-driven commercial decks that align our audience insights with the specific marketing objectives of global and local brands.
Portfolio Retention: Build "stickiness" with existing partners, focusing on account management that drives renewals and upsell opportunities.
2. Brand & Fan Activations
Experiential Marketing: Lead the design and execution of high-impact activations (Matchday fan zones, community pop-ups, and digital campaigns) that provide measurable ROI for partners.
Integrated Campaigns: Collaborate with marketing and media teams to ensure activations are amplified across digital channels and on-ground touchpoints.
Performance Forensics: Monitor activation KPIs and deliver comprehensive post-event reports that prove value to stakeholders and inform future strategy.
3. Strategy, Planning & Data Intelligence
Pipeline Governance: Track sales velocity and activation ROI using CRM tools to ensure the business meets its quarterly revenue milestones.
Market Intuition: Stay ahead of fan behavior trends and competitor activities to continually iterate our sponsorship value propositions.
Stakeholder Orchestration: Serve as the primary liaison for vendors and corporate partners, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Sports Management.
Experience: 3–5 years in sales, sponsorships, or experiential activations (Sports/Entertainment industry highly preferred).
Track Record: Proven history of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and managing complex event logistics.
Core Competencies
Commercial IQ: A deep understanding of how to quantify and sell "fandom" and brand association.
Project Management: The ability to move a project from a conceptual slide deck to a physical, on-ground reality.
Negotiation: Strong ability to pitch to C-suite executives and navigate complex legal/commercial contracts.
Energy & Passion: A genuine love for sports and the unique energy of fan engagement.
